Advice From A Fitness Expert- 5 Tips To Stick With It, Even While Busy: Guest Brandon Daniel

So as some of you know I have made a commitment to really get healthy.  I have been extremely fortunate or lucky to have genes that keep me relatively slim. However on the inside my body is way older than it should be and being faced with many different medical issues it was time for me to take charge of my own health. I am also feeling pretty damn great! I have more energy, and I feel just so much better about myself. I know we can’t be nagged into something, at least that doesn’t’ work for me. So maybe just maybe this is for you, just you!

This week I am excited to introduce a fitness trainer who is really making a difference in other’s people lives in the area I live.  I also wanted to interview Brandon because I have seen him really start with an idea of wanting to be a fitness trainer and really build a really successful business over a short amount of time.  We all have goals and dreams and to make them reality we have to be a risk taker and really have a go for it attitude. I guess that is the same way about living a healthier life. We have to really truly believe in ourselves, believe that we deserve to be healthier and we can actually make it happen.

I would like to introduce Brandon Daniel:

How did you decide to get into fitness?
I’ve always had a passion for the health and wellness industry so back in 2005 I began as a Personal Trainer for a local gym and have been helping people get healthier ever since.
    Can you describe your job?
Right now I teach small group Personal Training classes at my gym All The Way Fit in Roseville and I also do Saturday Boot Camps outside in Roseville as well.  The groups are fun because I am able to help many people get healthier, they can save money being in smaller groups and it’s a great way to have fun along with getting a great workout.
As an Entrepreneur how did you grow your business and really make a name for yourself?
Social Media and word of mouth have been the two biggest things for me with growing my business.  Facebook has been great because it helps people see the fun other people have working out and it doesn’t have to be so dreadful the get fit.

Can you give five tips or examples on how a busy person like others or myself can stay healthy during the day and really stick with it, rather than just another resolution that doesn’t work?
1.  Write down “Why” you want to get healthier, it’ll help get you in the mindset on why this is important to you.
2.  Write down when you will be working out.  If you write it down you are more likely to follow through with it.
3.  Set goals for yourself and reward yourself when you hit them.  By setting goals it helps keep you focus on what you are doing.  Set short term and long term goals to so the long-term goals don’t seem too overwhelming.
4.  Pack your meals.  So often busy people get preoccupied at work that they either forget to have lunch or they give in to bad food choices because of the convenience.  If you pack your meal before you leave to work or before you start your day it will lead to better food choices overall.
5.  Be patient.  So often, busy people like things to happen fast, I can be one of them.  The main thing to understand is that this is a lifestyle change and not a quick fix.  It will take time but small steps over a consistent period of time will lead to success.

What are the biggest rewards that come from your job?
By far the success stories have been the biggest reward.  It is an amazing feeling knowing that you had a part in helping change someone’s life.
What are your thoughts on all the new products out there for weight loss, Plexus, Omni?
I’m not a huge fan of outside products just for the fact that the best way proven over a long period of time with getting healthier is a steady dose of exercise 4-5 days a week and eating foods such as non processed foods, fruits, vegetables and lean protein.  The reason why so many people take extra things is because we fall in the habit of wanting results faster than expected.  Unless you have something wrong internally such as a thyroid or hormonal issue if you are patient with exercise along with eating well and you are consistent with it you’ll see great results.
